Top fashion street is under threat from building work

10 November, 2017

• I’VE been a trader in Fonthill Road, Finsbury Park, for the last 21 years, and my father since 1985.

With the City North development, traders in the street have seen a dramatic decline in business due to the road becoming a building site with masses of lorries entering daily.

With extortionate business rates and City North causing massive disruption, what was once one of the best fashion streets in London is now being brushed aside mercilessly.

Livelihoods are being ruined and no one seems to care. We are part of the community and add a lot to the area, providing jobs locally. But, with the burden of high business rates and the City North development, that is becoming increasingly difficult.
