THE teenage victim of a fatal stabbing in Holloway has been named by the police.
Kamal Nuur, 18, was found by police at about 8pm on Monday suffering with stab wounds just off North Road.
He was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitness Ross Burns told the Tribune: “I was sitting in my room and then it sounded like a bit of a commotion outside. There was a scuffle and shouting then I heard people running away.
“It was quite harrowing, there was screaming and crying.
“Then 5 mins later police were there. They cut all his clothes off.”
The police believe that Mr Nuur was chased and attacked in Goodinge Close, just off North Road, by two male suspects who then fled in the direction of York Way.
A cordon was set up in North Road
DCI Andy Partridge, who is leading the investigation, said: “Another senseless knife attack has left a family mourning the loss of their loved one. At this early stage we believe that Kamal was chased a short distance and attacked, resulting in him being fatally wounded.
“I am confident there are people out there who would have seen something which could well assist with our investigation. I would appeal to those individuals to please come forward and help us find those responsible.”
One woman, who has lived in the area for 40 years, left flowers at the scene with the message “rest in peace young man”.
She told the Tribune: “I spoke to him 15 minutes before it happened. He had a lovely big smile. My dog had been chasing him. I then drove up to Archway and came back and he was dead. I can’t believe it. It’s so sad.”
Mr Nuur’s next of kin have been informed.
There have been no arrests.
