How the new theatre could look
A NEW 600-seat theatre is set to be built in King’s Cross.
The new auditorium is the product of a partnership between developer Argent, which has overseen the construction of a raft of new buildings on what were former railway lands, and the London Theatre Company.
The new stages will be placed on Lewis Cubitt Square.
The theatre is part of a development that includes nine floors and will also be home to the London offices of social media giant Facebook.
It is expected that the new theatre will open in winter 2021.
Hampstead-based theatre director Sir Nicholas Hytner, who is a director of the London Theatre Company, said: “We’re looking forward to joining the vibrant King’s Cross neighbourhood in a few years’ time.”
