A SOLICITOR based in Angel took on the challenge to run 10 marathons in 10 different countries raising just short of £16,000 for charity.
Jessica Standley, a solicitor from Bolt Burdon Kemp, has raised £15,999.31 after running marathons in 10 countries including in London, New York, Paris and Barcelona.
She finished with the Edinburgh Marathon in May this year dressed as Wonder Woman.
The funds were raised for charities National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) and WheelPower, which provides sport opportunities for disabled people to find a sport they enjoy.
Ms Standley said: “It has not always been easy training and completing the 10 marathons.
“Fitting training in around everything else can be difficult, but knowing I was raising funds for such great causes kept me running.”
She added: “Will I keep running? I don’t think I can imagine my life without running now.”
Gabrielle Shaw, CEO of NAPAC said: “Jess should be so proud of her training, her endurance in completing 10 marathons and her success in raising thousands for NAPAC as well as survivors of childhood abuse across the UK.”
Jo Hall, at WheelPower said: “The funds raised will go towards our programme of sporting events for disabled children and recently injured adults in 2020.”
