You’re gonna need a bigger basin…
Toothy installation unveiled as water activities return following year-long closure

SHARKS are bursting out the water near the Islington Boat Club, marking the grand reopening of water activities following a year-long closure due to Covid-19.
The club hopes the new toothy installation, above, in City Road Basin will help bring in more visitors.
Jan Dorling, Islington Boat Club’s office manager, said: “We’ve been around for 50 years and this has been the first time in our history that we have ever had to shut our gates.
“The children and the staff are ecstatic to be coming back and I am excited to go back to working in front of the water again and hearing the children laughing and splashing around in the water.”
The club is holding a consultation, ending on April 15, with the aim of improving its services. The survey can be found on the Islington Boat Club website and as a thank-you it is offering a prize draw. The winner can choose either a family and friends narrowboat trip or, for young people aged 9 to 19 years, a bespoke kayak tour along the canal with up to five friends.
The club will opens next Tuesday. For further information go to www.islingtonboatclub.com
